February 2010
Aura Corporation’s new Halo luminaire is a circular surface-mounted luminaire body with all the benefits of Actulite polarised daylight lighting, plus “effective sidelighting”.

Actulite polarised lighting reportedly emits a quality of light “virtually identical” to natural daylight, achieved via a patented Actulite multi-layered light polarising panel, high frequency control gear, and specially manufactured triphosphor full spectrum fluorescent tubes. Actulite consequently increases contrast by 8%, has “excellent” daylight colour rendering, and improves visual acuity by 120%. The luminaire uses a circular Actulite polarising panel to control downlight while removing all glare, eliminating harmful ultraviolet rays, disturbing reflections, and reflective glare. The opal polycarbonate peripheral diffuser provides effective sidelighting. The Halo comes in two sizes: 640 mm diameter and 90 mm deep, and 355 mm diameter with the same depth. Both feature a white powder-coated mild steel gear tray containing high frequency control gear and tubes for ceiling mounting or suspending on stainless steel cables. Each is built to IP65 and has T.P(a) Class 1 fire resistance.
