Rada has seen its ‘UK healthcare- approved’ Rada Sense – a concealed digital bath/shower mixing valve – integrated into a range of products offered by care equipment specialist Reval Continuing Care.
Reval, which provides assisted bathing for low and high dependency hospitals and care units, chose Rada Sense because of its many practical benefits – from its hygienic non-touch control of both On/Off and temperature, with programmable maximum, minimum and default temperatures, to its smooth, easy-clean design.
Reportedly the world’s first digital thermostatic mixing valve for commercial applications, Rada Sense is ‘designed to meet the compliance needs of the most demanding healthcare settings, and assists in the control of Legionella bacteria’. Key features include automatic ‘duty lushing’ and supervised thermal disinfection; the latter can be data-logged.
Rada says the BuildCert TMV3 digitally- controlled valve was ‘the perfect solution’ for Reval ‘as surface temperature and potential scalding risks are eliminated’ – particularly important if facilities are likely to be used by the elderly and vulnerable. (The photo shows a Rada Sense installed in Reval’s Cocoon therapy bath at Olea Care’s Fernlea Care Home in Hazel Grove, Stockport.)
Jason Ashman, Reval’s MD, said: “During the seven years of working with Rada, we have seen our company grow thanks to the ability to offer highly innovative products with unique features to the healthcare industry – delivering improved patient outcomes and safer working environments for staff. We were impressed by the digital technology Rada Sense encompasses while meeting the highest industry standards.”
