Getting temperature control and cost right

Air quality and comfortable temperatures in healthcare facilities are critical to patient health and wellbeing, while, if efficiently managed, getting temperature control right can improve a hospital’s energy efficiency and running costs. With so many options on the market, however, determining ‘the best fit’ for a particular healthcare facility can be a challenge.

Here, Adam Spolnik, director of ICS Cool Energy, a European specialist in cooling and heating temperature control sales, rental, and servicing, explains the temperature control technologies and approaches that healthcare establishments can apply to ensure that they remain front-runners in the sector. He discusses new temperature control technologies and remote monitoring software, along with energy-saving technologies such as adiabatic coolers, free cooling, and the importance of replacing the refrigerant gas, R22.

ICS Cool Energy has considerable experience working with healthcare facilities, and understands the factors that estates and facilities managers must consider when selecting temperature control systems. The need to improve efficiencies has never been more pressing, with seemingly ever-increasing energy prices, and the introduction of ever more stringent regulations and directives regarding eco- efficiency and safe refrigerants.

We have recently launched the i-Chiller, the latest addition to our fleet, which is available in both the UK and European markets. The i-Chiller places efficiency at its core, and uses the highest grade components, as standard in each of the range’s 17-strong chiller models, to ensure that ‘out of the box’ levels of reliability and productivity can be sustainably and consistently achieved.
