Pacific Care, a care provider with five care facilities throughout Glasgow and Renfrewshire, has selected Gerflor flooring for the corridors, day rooms, and toilets, in its new £4.2 m, 60-bed Mosswood Care Home in Glasgow.
Gerflor’s Taralay Impression Comfort flooring, comprising a Very High Density (VHD) foam backing reinforced with glass fibre and a printed design protected by a transparent wear layer, which offers 19 dB sound insulation, and an indentation resistance of 0.08 mm, was selected for the day rooms and corridors. The product is protected by a UV-cured surface treatment, Protecsol, which is ‘easy to maintain’ and permanently eliminates the need for an acrylic emulsion.
he toilets needed to be safe and easy to clean, making Gerflor’s slip-resistant, heavy duty Tarasafe Geo vinyl safety flooring with Sparclean ‘the obvious choice’. The company said: “This brand new composition, with deeply inlaid mineral crystal particles, offers much brighter colours and appearance, and a cleaner look throughout the product’s life. It is simple to install, much lighter to handle, and more flexible in navigating corners and difficult angles. Maintenance is simple, as no sealer or polish is required for the entire product life, and it has a much higher resistance to staining.”
