Polyflor safety flooring has helped create beautiful, homely interiors for the Winchcombe Place care home in Newbury.
The interior of the 80-bed care home was designed by The Drawing Room Interiors of Solihull, with specialist furniture and vintage displays from YTM Furniture. Polysafe Wood fx PUR decorative safety vinyl flooring features in the reception area, dining room, and hair salon.
Polyflor said: “The European Oak 3347 shade creates a welcoming, inspirational, and comfortable atmosphere which complements the eclectic style of the communal areas. The flooring’s replication of natural materials and homely appearance helped create a stylish environment that complements the historical artefacts on display. These reflect the local history of the site and community, and offer visual cues to aid reminiscence for dementia residents.”
The collaborative effort between The Drawing Room Interiors and YTM Furniture was awarded a SBID International Design Award for New Build and Development.
Polysafe Wood fx was chosen ‘as a safe but attractive flooring option that would cater for residents with a wide range of needs’. A hard-wearing sheet vinyl flooring ‘combining the authentic reproduction of wood, with sustainable wet slip resistance’, it incorporates a cross-linked and UV-cured PUR polyurethane reinforcement which simplifies maintenance and cleaning.
