IBI Group has appointed award-winning architect and RIBA client advisor, Wendy de Silva, to head its ‘increasingly successful’ mental health architectural team.
She is rejoining the practice from P+HS, having previously been a partner at the IBI-acquired Nightingale Associates 18 years ago.
With an extensive mental healthcare project portfolio, and significant experience in the design and delivery of community, primary care, and acute healthcare projects, she will look to build on IBI’s best practice, ‘while engaging with the mental health community to improve the relationship between design and the service-user experience’.
Paul Hewes, IBI regional director, said: “The mental health sector is a key focus for the practice, and we believe Wendy de Silva’s appointment will enable us to enhance our design approach and create solutions that will make a real difference users and carers.”
