The Vortex disposal unit – Simple, Reliable, Cost effective

Vernacare is the only company worldwide to manufacture a complete single-use human waste disposal system and has been a global market leader for more than 50 years. Its system helps to reduce the risk of cross infection and improve environmental performance, while saving nursing time and generating cost savings.
The Vortex range machines and fibre-moulded disposable products - from wash bowls and bedpans to male and female urinals - are designed, engineered and manufactured at Vernacare's award winning UK production facility.

Easy to use System

The Vortex design includes an integrated anti-bacterial deodoriser which automatically cleans and disinfects inside the machine at the end of each cycle, a self-diagnosing LCD screen together with a manual emptying override. The new Vortex + machine has been developed to operate on a hands-free opening and closing and auto start function, providing a simple and hassle free solution to hygienic toileting.

The Vortex brings simplicity by quickly and effectively managing waste disposal. Its unique features ensure smooth and automatic running of the machine.

Reliable Technology

The Vortex is the only disposal unit on the market that has a closed-drum system during maceration and a unique twin-blade design. The machine only permits a fine slurry to enter the drains, which eliminates the risk of blockages from wipes, gloves or large particles.

Independent tests have shown that the Vortex discharges more rapidly than alternative machines, with substantially lower and less variable solids content. The Vortex ensures a reliable cycle and efficient disposal of waste water slurry. A drainage video has been created and is available on request demonstrating the Vortex efficiently discharging waste water slurry four times faster than competitors.

The Vernacare expert team is dedicated to reviewing, creating and testing innovative disposal unit design to ensure that its unique features continue to be at the forefront of single-use waste management.

Cost Effective Solution

Our twin blade disposal unit is competitively priced to offer the best value and quality. Service packages with extended warranties, price match promotions as well as flexible purchasing options are available to tailor to individual healthcare facility requirements.

The Vortex disposal machine uses a 24 litre cold water cycle seriously reducing electricity costs as well as environmental impact.

Integrated Support and Training

The smooth running of our Vortex machine is at the core of our service. We offer full technical support to health care facilities with locally sourced engineers who carry out comprehensive pre-installation machine checks, offer regular preventative servicing to extend the life of the system as well as reducing the risks of breakdowns.

The Vernacare technical service team cover the whole of the UK and is equipped with a wide range of spare parts and operate at a 97% first time fix rate. Vernacare’s highly advanced I.T system provides rapid and clear communication, ensuring a maximum 48 hours response from our regional engineers.

Bespoke training options are also available to maintenance and nursing staff to support healthcare facilities to fully manage and maintain the Vortex machine.
