An innovative new risk management app, CAT-SI, is set to launch at the Healthcare Estates Exhibition. Exclusively distributed by leading water hygiene and Legionella control consultancy Urban Environments (stand E49), CAT-SI is designed to streamline building asset management and compliance.
CAT-SI stands for Compliance Audit Tool and is a cloud-based, comprehensive monitoring and management platform which is proven to save facilities managers valuable time and resources. This first-stage release will be focused on water hygiene compliance, with other services (such as gas, electrical and fire safety) to be added in due course.
Coupled with a Legionella monitoring system using QR-codes to track and record water samples as they are taken and lab tested, CAT-SI gives healthcare facilities a fully joined-up approach to water hygiene management and traceability.
Being released on both Apple iOS and Android, CAT-SI is a complete toolkit for Legionella control which ensures full L8 compliance. Functions include:
- Real-time activity tracking and reporting from site
- Wireless-enabled data capture for temperature reading
- Simple data input with offline functionality – work anywhere, anytime
- Mobile upload with automatic synching and 30-day activity storage
- Web-based admin system – no software installation
- Create audit tasks and manage task execution
- Auto-generation of compliance reports and certificates
- Secure SHA-2 data encryption
James Homard, technical director at Urban Environments, says, “CAT-SI delivers frontline data to compliance managers on demand and boasts market-beating functionality and usability. Water safety forms the launch-pad for the CAT-SI platform but will soon be complemented by the full gamut of compliance needs. Given the complexities of health and safety legislation and the varied mix of sites and facilities with which our clients are grappling, CAT-SI will deliver complete peace of mind.”
Urban Environments has extensive experience working in healthcare, most recently being appointed by East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust to handle fast turnaround Legionella testing and monitoring across its main hospitals as well as all outlying satellite sites.
The company inspects over 25,000 properties across the UK every year, helping a wide range of public and private sector clients achieve health and safety compliance with increasingly complicated regulations. Clients include the NHS, P&O, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Catalyst Housing, Holiday Inn and Kingston University, several of which have been retained for more than 10 years.
James Homard continues, “Our approach is to minimise risk by using good engineering practice, combined with fast reporting to ensure that hazards are controlled. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, reliability and flexibility, keeping clients and properties safe while reducing the burden on duty holders."
Urban Environments can be found on stand E49 at the Healthcare Estates Exhibition, 4-5 October 2016.
