DELABIE’s new mechanical mixer attracted plenty of interest at the recent Healthcare Estates show held in Manchester. Its unique design, with no spout, smooth interior and low water volume, limits bacterial development considerably and is ideal for healthcare patients and care home residents.
Infection control
The 2621 mixer has no spout, incorporating DELABIE’s Biosafe outlet directly into the mixer body instead. Made from Hostaform®, its smooth internal surface provides nowhere for dirt or scale to adhere. The volume of water in the body is reduced by up to 85% thanks to the mixer design, and narrower water passages mean that water flows at a higher velocity, helping to control biofilm development. Moreover, the water does not come into contact with chrome, nickel or lead, anticipating the new European drinking water directive.
Anti-scalding technology
Available with a standard mechanism or pressure-balancing technology, the new mixer is fitted with a maximum temperature limiter to reduce the risk of scalding. The EP pressure-balancing model delivers a constant mixed water temperature regardless of pressure variations in the hot or cold water supply. The mechanism will also reduce the hot water flow significantly if the cold water supply shuts-off, reducing the risk of scalding to the user.
The 2621 mixer can also withstand thermal shocks at the temperature of the hot water in the system. Pressing the red button behind the control lever will override the temperature limiter without removing the control lever or shutting off the cold water supply.
Easy to maintain
DELABIE has designed a mechanical mixer that is easy to install and maintain. Its sleek exterior design reduces the build-up of dirt and facilitates cleaning, while its interior design reduces biofilm development and bacterial proliferation. Despite its simplicity, the mixer provides user safety, comfort, hygiene, and infection control – the ideal solution for healthcare estates.
