This year at the annual Healthcare Estates conference and exhibition held in Manchester, Bender UK will launch POWERSCOUT® - a new web based software which delivers permanent monitoring of electrical systems within healthcare facilities.
POWERSCOUT® is designed to enable pro-active maintenance, avoid unplanned shut downs or system failures, and eliminate the potential for fires due to overloaded or faulty systems. It is part of the range of innovative solutions for maximising the efficiency and availability of critical electrical power systems which is the focus for Bender UK on Stand F37 at Healthcare Estates 2016.
Bender is the leading provider of Isolated Power Supply (IPS) and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to the UK healthcare sector. It also offers a turnkey service for operating theatre new build and refurbishment projects along with supply, installation and commissioning of a range of equipment including LED surgical lighting, clinical pendants, and hygienic touch screen theatre control panels (TCP) incorporating x-ray viewers and PACS screens.
POWERSCOUT® draws and integrates data from measuring and residual current monitoring devices to generate clear and detailed visualisations not only from Bender equipment, but from third-party devices too.
Through permanent monitoring the web-based software solution gives healthcare facilities managers and operators an immediate real time picture of the entire data for single or multiple site locations. The data is available remotely through web links and can be used to plan and deliver pro-active maintenance and manage energy use.
Integrating data from devices across multiple locations allows users to compare performance of different buildings, with measured values automatically saved. This automated analysis and reporting of residual currents and power quality forms the basis for verifying the integrity of systems without switch-off, and is designed to fulfil the requirements of the IEC 60364-6 regarding periodic verification.
Stand F37 will demonstrate the expertise and product excellence offered by Bender which has secured key roles for the company in many high profile projects. Recent projects include providing IPS and UPS systems, touch screen control panels and PACS viewers for the new £335m Royal Liverpool Hospital due to open next year, and supplying and commissioning touch screens, PACS viewers and LED surgical lights for refurbished operating theatres facilities at Whittington Hospital in London. Bender UK is also providing IPS and UPS systems to deliver safety and resilience for critical equipment within The Christie Proton Beam Therapy Centre being built in Manchester.
Bender will also display its famous ATICS® automatic changeover device which sets the industry standard for resilient IPS/UPS specifications. It is the only device of its kind specifically designed for the healthcare market with independent accreditation to the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Level 2 standard and compliance with BS7671 2008:2001.
Since the introduction of POWERSCOUT® Bender now offers a complete solution, from design and consultancy to supply, installation, service and continuous monitoring of the electrical infrastructure within healthcare environments. It offers the opportunity for Bender engineers to deliver pro-active preventative maintenance and action a potential critical issue within a healthcare facility’s power system even before the facilities team are aware they have a problem.
