When designing washroom products for the healthcare sector, user safety is paramount, but there must also be an awareness of the task of those managing the longevity and function of a product day-in, day-out, and the time pressures they face.
So says Reliance Water Controls, which reports that the latest NHS Staff Survey (for 2017) revealed that 58% of NHS staff worked additional unpaid hours in 2017, with only 31% feeling there were enough staff at their organisation for them to properly do their job. The company said: “Although these results show a slight improvement since the 2016 survey, they still paint a picture of a health service working with limited resources.”
Jonathan Farrell, Health & Care Specification manager, said: “Proven to provide reliable thermostatic control, our Caremix TMV3 Cartridge is at the heart of our Caremix range of taps and showers, making spares holding much easier to manage, and very cost-effective. When we began working on the latest addition to the range, the Caremix Prime taps, we also wanted to address the need for easier maintenance and the short amount of time available to those responsible for, and reliant on, our products. We introduced features such as an easy-to-remove, clip-on cover to access the internal serviceable components, and a tap body demountable without removing the integral isolating valves. The taps are also PVD coated to prevent scratching and tarnishing of the surface, which can result in more frequent replacement.”
The Caremix Prime S3, T3, and H3 taps are a range of TMV3, WRAS-approved basin and panel-mounted taps for healthcare applications.
