A market leader in turnkey operating theatre solutions, clinical technology and critical care power for group 2 medical locations, Bender UK is showcasing its Hospital solutions on Stand F45 at the 2018 Healthcare Estates conference and exhibition in Manchester.
Over the last two decades Bender UK has become a highly regarded leader in the Healthcare sector, setting the standard for reliable and resilient critical care power. Year-on-year growth has been achieved by broadening the product and service offering. Today Bender delivers complete turnkey theatre solutions for new build and retrofit applications, encompassing consultancy, design, manufacturing and supply through to installation, service and continuous monitoring and technical support of equipment and site electrical infrastructure.
In terms of critical care power Bender UK provides Medical IT power (IPS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and Sil 2 approved ATICS® auto changeover and monitoring devices. Bender UK has introduced a bespoke Healthcare application of Residual Current Monitoring (RCM) technology, to monitor both critical and non-critical electrical installations. It fulfils the requirements of the BS7671 18th Edition states that an adequate management system with “an effective regime of continuous monitoring and maintenance’ can negate the need to carry out five-year periodic inspection and test, substituting a less intrusive process which avoids disconnection of loads.
In 2018 Hospitals in the UK and Ireland started to recognise and adopt the application of RCM technology. The continuous monitoring system provides early warning of developing earth faults which cause electrical failure, so it helps prevent unplanned downtime. Continuous monitoring system enabling compliance with 18th Edition regulations, while eliminating the need for critical care areas to be shut-down for essential tests.
Bender UK is the exclusive distributor of Merivaara Q-Flow Surgical Lights. These excellent lights deliver best-in-class performance in key areas such colour-rendering, shadow reduction and management of ultra-clean canopy air turbulence.
In 2018 nearly a hundred sets of Merivaara surgical lights have been specified by the NHS and private Hospitals with Bender UK successfully completing turnkey theatre projects that include power, theatre lights, new Bender clinical pendants and third-party manufacturers equipment.
To enhance its services to customers, Bender UK is currently completing a new theatre equipment demonstration showroom at its Cumbrian headquarters. The operating theatre showroom contains Merivaara Q-flow surgical lights with HD camera connected to an AV system, PACS monitors and a sound system. The theatre is fitted with new Bender pendants, vertical and horizontal bedhead trunking and new style theatre control panels. The showroom incorporates power/test demonstration facilities for Medical IT/IPS, UPS, RCM and alarm technology. It will enable Bender to demonstrate technology, and train customers in a safe and controlled environment.
Combined with Bender’s expertise and success in the market place, the company also delivers round the clock preventative maintenance, technical support and service to more than 350 hospitals in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
