When University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust required an upgrade and refurbishment of two of its theatre suites at Glenfield Hospital, MTX provided a ‘fast-track and high quality upgrade solution at a competitive cost’.
MTX has a long-standing relationship with the hospital, having provided it with a new two-storey Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit in 2013. The refurbishment of Theatres 7 and 8 saw MTX deliver new plant, LED lighting, and a new BMS control system, air-handling equipment, IPS and UPS components, pendants, and touchscreen theatre control panels.
MTX’s team worked closely with the Trust’s Estates Team and theatre staff to deliver the project to a precise specification. Carefully managing the co-ordination of both the staff working in the theatre department and the onsite team to ensure that daily activities ran smoothly, MTX successfully handed over the upgraded theatres just eight weeks after work began.
