Washroom and water efficiency specialist, Cistermiser Keraflo, has joined industry body ‘Made in Britain’.
David Meacock, technical director, said: “In our industry relatively few products are made in the UK, but UK production is something we are committed to. As a ‘Made in Britain’ member we can celebrate this, and our customers can clearly see that we are a British company, proudly supporting UK manufacturing.”
The recent purchase of three new injection moulding machines is further evidence of the company’s ‘Made in Britain’ ethos, David Meacock explained. He said: “This was our biggest ever investment, and means we can produce 95% of the mouldings we require at our factory here in Woodley, Reading.”
Steve Dell, Operations manager, says the two machines can produce components sized from ‘extremely tiny’ up to 100 mm in diameter. PC back-up ensures production data is safeguarded, while tooling set-up times have been reduced ‘by around two-thirds’. “What used to take two hours can now be achieved much more quickly, with tooling dropped into place by hoist,” he explained. “One example of how key the injection moulding machines are for us is that our hydraulic urinal flushing control valves are composed of 25 components, 20 of which we make ourselves.”
