Safe and silent door operator

An internal swing door operator said to provide safety, silent operation, security and energy efficiency, and to be ideal for applications where “affordable accessibility” and ease of use are key has been introduced by Besam.

The SW100 is an electro-mechanical swing door operator “safe for users of all ages and physical abilities” which complies with the Building Regulations Document M requirements. Besam says it is designed and tested to exceed the demanding requirements of both the BS 7036 and the American ANSI standard for low energy automatic swing door operators, making it one of the market’s safest such systems.

Compatible with a wide range of external safety sensors and locking mechanisms, the system features a Smart Control unit as standard which manages every aspect of opening and closing. Built-in safety overrides ensure reliable, safe operation.

Other key features include intelligent lock functions that sense when a door is not closed properly and prompt the door to open again and close safely, plus a fully monitored battery back-up, ensuring the device will continue functioning should a power failure occur.

A modern motor control reportedly makes the operator 75% more energy-efficient than conventional door operators, while the “push and go” function means the controlled door opens automatically if pushed.

The SW100 also incorporates an obstruction control whereby the door will stop and reverse if blocked by a person or object, self-adjusting closing force, and “smart” controls that close double doors in the correct sequence so they are “fully closed, sealed and stay that way”.
