SAS International has introduced SAS AB, an anti-bacterial coating for metal ceilings and architectural products suitable for a variety of public and commercial buildings including hospitals. Used in conjunction with routine cleaning procedures, the coating effectively inhibits the growth of microorganisms and controls the potential risk.
Anti-bacterial coating for safer ceilings
SAS AB is more effective than a standard powder coating as it has active anti-microbial properties which inhibit the growth of microorganisms. The active ingredient is a proven anti-microbial agent and is bound into the coating during production.
An SAS International metal ceiling tile, plain or perforated and backed with aluminium foil for sound absorption, acts as a barrier to any osmotic effect and renders the tile a truly inert material. Independent testing has proved that SAS AB inhibits the growth of bacteria including strains of listeria monocytogenes, salmonella enteritidis and Escherichia coli.
SAS AB does not replace cleaning activity, it contributes to established infection control/cleaning procedures in helping to prevent the contamination of a working environment.
