MTX wins contract to extend Lincoln CDC

MTX Contracts Ltd has been awarded the contract to create an extension to the Lincoln Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).

The contact builds on its completion of the original facility in late 2024.

The extension will support planned care and additional diagnostic services, helping to increase capacity and reduce waiting times for patients across Lincolnshire. Constructed using modern methods of construction (MMC), the scheme will utilise precisely engineered structural steel units, manufactured offsite and craned into position alongside the existing centre.

The contract, awarded by United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH), includes the creation of a linkway between the two buildings, additional drainage and groundworks for the site.

MTX delivered the Lincoln CDC concurrently with a second CDC in Skegness, utilising MMC to ensure faster, safer, greener and more cost-effective delivery. Both centres were designed to reflect the specific health needs of each local community and offer a wide variety of diagnostic services and clinical pathways, including CT scans, MRIs, X-rays and blood tests.

Since opening its doors in December 2024, Lincoln CDC has delivered more than 76,000 tests, significantly easing pressure on the Trust’s acute hospital sites. The new extension is set to further enhance access to services, making appointments quicker and more convenient for patients.

MTX Contracts managing director, David Hartley, said: "We are proud to be once again collaborating with United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This appointment reflects the Trust’s continued confidence in our expertise and our ability to deliver high-quality healthcare facilities that make a real difference to patients."
