Constructionline is said to be “the UK’s largest and only” Government-approved register for pre-qualified contractors and consultants.
Reportedly the healthcare sector’s most widely used pre-qualification tool, the free service is used by over 170 health organisations when tendering for regular maintenance and refurbishment work, and was last year used to pre-qualify contractors for Procure 21+. Any contractor registering must demonstrate its suitability for work based on its technical, commercial, and financial capabilities, to ensure it is “fit to supply”. Constuctionline says the register allows health estates managers to:
• Ensure potential contractors are financially stable. “Experian” is used to check all registered suppliers daily.
• View a contractor’s certificates and licences, and feedback left by other Constructionline buyers.
• Assess the skills and qualifications of an organisation’s staff.
• Verify that that a contractor has adequate, up-to-date insurance policies, and that it is “up-to-date” with all relevant legislation.
