Introducing the MAT ECO-flow Stealth UCV system

The flush-to-ceiling ECO-flow Stealth is the latest generation of MAT’s ECO-flow ultraclean ventilation (UCV) system. It removes dangerous airborne bioburden within the operating theatre room for safer surgery. Quieter than traditional systems, it has also been engineered to be more energy-efficient, thus supporting net zero targets.

As well as complementing the modern operating theatre with its streamlined appearance, the UCV canopy’s design means there are zero architectural clashes with other equipment such as lights and pendants. Helpful perimeter LED lighting changes colour to indicate canopy status: • Green = UCV mode • Amber = Conventional mode • Red = UCV fault • Blue = HEPA filter dirty

In addition to the ECO-flow Stealth, MAT offers traditional and screenless canopy options. Each is available at standard size 2.8m x 2.8m clean zone or with larger size 3.2m x 3.2m clean zone.

About critical ventilation

In the hospital environment, critical ventilation is vital in all operating theatre suites, in line with HTM 03-01 Specialised ventilation for healthcare premises (2021), to prevent the buildup of airborne microbial contamination and protect vulnerable patients and surgical wound sites.

In containment laboratories, critical ventilation protects research scientists and prevents escape of dangerous live microorganisms.

In cleanrooms, critical ventilation protects products and processes from external contamination, limiting airborne contaminants and ensuring specific air quality standards are met.
