Surveillance cuts vandalism
Remote video surveillance has dramatically improved after-hours security at the John Telford Clinic in Ilford, Essex. After numerous incidents of vandalism, the clinic’s security was upgraded to monitored CCTV, using Secom’s Vision service. As a result, criminal activity and attacks on the building have virtually stopped.

Helping improve staff protection
In a survey last year carried out by the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) a quarter of the 2,800 nurses surveyed said they had been physically assaulted, with 80% of A&E nurses reporting that they had been assaulted in the past year. The Department of Health confirmed there has been a 15-fold increase in prosecutions for attacks on NHS staff.
