Many of Britain’s hospital staff are worried that hand-cleaning initiatives are in vain as nurses risk spreading infection through dirty uniforms, a survey by the Patients Association indicates.
Anxiety over dirty uniforms
Those “in the front line” – including infection control nurses and facilities managers -– say some nurses carry yesterday’s stains. Complaints included: too few uniforms, poor changing facilities, and doubts over laundering techniques.
