BOC Healthcare says it offers hospitals and other care facilities ‘a total turnkey solution to the complex issue of creating safer, more secure medical gas cylinder storage’.
The company said: “As the sole point of contact for estates personnel, the BOC Healthcare team negotiates and manages all aspects of the work. Our staff visit the site to gain a thorough understanding of the project requirements, surveying any existing facilities. The design team then develops a bespoke HTM 02-01-compliant solution which may involve the upgrading of current facilities, or a proposal for the construction of new purpose-built external stores. BOC Healthcare will then project manage and deliver a total turnkey solution, including selection of location, installation, and new signage.”
Historically, BOC points out, many medical gas stores have been located in isolated or disused buildings, ‘with only basic security measures in place’ – leading to cylinders being targeted by thieves. It added: “Increasing the standard of gas storage facilities to reduce the risk of theft and the cost of replacing cylinders is thus now a priority. We are ideally placed to work with hospitals to address these challenges, delivering an effective, compliant new or upgraded medical gas store.”
