ModuleCo Healthcare (MCH) has recently won a contract for the hire of a fully compliant single UCV modular theatre at Bedford Hospital.
The theatre is required while the hospital refurbishes its current theatres, and will be used to support all elective, trauma, and orthopaedic activity during this period. MCH offered a ‘competitively priced commercial offer, together with a programme that surpassed the Trust’s expectations’. The company said: “As capital funds were limited, we harnessed our extensive financial experience and understanding to provide an attractive hire package that incorporated the facility, plus all relevant clinical equipment, minimising the need for capital outlay.”
Project management and engagement with the Trust were ‘a priority from the outset’, since the facility is being installed at first floor level, immediately above the hospital’s main entrance. Regular meetings between clinicians and its in-house design team have, and continue to, take place to ensure patient flow and current theatre procedures are fully considered, allowing the new facility to be integrated seamlessly.
MCH will also carry out all relevant maintenance to the building.
