Adare Private Hospital and Clinic, the new private healthcare facility in Adare, County Limerick on which construction started last month, has signed a management contract with Australian private hospital operator Ramsay Health Care, which will operate the facility from its opening in January 2010.
Building starts on 75-bed hospital
Ramsay, which has a “substantial portfolio” of private and NHS hospitals in the UK, has now established a project office on the Adare site, reflecting the company’s presence in Ireland. Situated on the Adare Estate (owned by entrepreneur Tom Kane, who is also the architect of the project), the Adare Private Hospital and Clinic will incorporate 75 inpatient beds and extensive facilities for day cases. The hospital represents the first stage in the development of an extensive medical campus.
