Medirest has promoted two long-serving
members of its domestic and
cleaning staff to management roles.
Penny Scaife has been appointed as
domestic contract manager for
Hinchingbrooke Healthcare NHS Trust,
and Eleanor Rush has been made
training manager for over 700
Medirest staff at five hospitals in
the East Kent Trust.
Penny Scaife will be responsible for domestic services at the Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon and nine other local community healthcare facilities. Under her direction, Hinchingbrooke Hospital has been the first to pilot Medirest’s highly advanced a+ cleaning system which applies scientifically researched and developed cleaning methods and equipment that go well beyond NHS cleaning requirements. Following its successful implementation under Penny Scaife, the system will be introduced into all of Medirest’s 160 contracts across the UK.
Eleanor Rush will continue her current role as domestic manager at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford while running courses that include Stepping Into Management for Medirest staff from across all five sites within the Trust. Other East Kent Trust hospitals for which Medirest provides catering, portering and domestic services include The Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital, Margate, the Buckland Hospital, Dover and the Queen Victoria Hospital, Folkestone.
