Health on the High Street marks International Men’s Day with successful men’s health event.
Health on the High Street in Aylesbury recently hosted a men’s health event to mark International Men’s Day, bringing the community together for health checks and advice as well as 13 local teams and charities, creating a vibrant hub of health and wellbeing support for men.
Over 40 men completed health MOTs, visiting a range of stalls offering advice and resources. In addition, around 30 more visitors came in to enquire about pre-booked NHS health checks, book future appointments, and access information for themselves and their families.
One attendee said: “It was really helpful having the team outside the unit to explain what was going on and encourage men to come in and find out more.”
Raghuv Bhasin, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust CEO, attended the event and had a health check carried out, said: “This recent event showcased the power of community collaboration. It was great to see so many local groups working alongside our Trust teams to bring health services and advice to residents on the high street. This approach is central to our strategy and mission of helping people live healthier lives.”
The event was also supported by Buckinghamshire Council Leader Steven Broadbent who also had a health check and Cabinet Member for Health & Wellbeing Cllr Isobel Darby.
