A decision by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) on which contractors will be appointed under its £37bn Hospital 2.0 Alliance (H2A) framework is expected imminently.
Eleven firms are expected to be selected from the NHS’ shortlist of 16 contractors for the 12-year, multi-supplier framework, which will accelerate the delivery of new healthcare infrastructure, focusing on standardised, efficient, and modular construction methods for major hospital projects.
The 16 shortlisted contractors are:
- BAM Construction
- Bovis Construction (Europe)
- Bouygues UK
- Dragados Sociedad Anonima
- FCC Construcción
- Integrated Health Projects (IHP) - Sir Robert McAlpine/Vinci
- John Graham Construction Limited
- John Sisk & Son
- Kier Construction
- Laing O'Rourke Delivery
- McLaren Construction Group
- Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure
- Multiplex Construction Europe Limited
- Sacyr UK & Ireland
- Skanska Construction UK
- Willmott Dixon Construction
The 12 year framework will consist of an initial six year period, along with a further six-year extension option, and will cover design, construction, and commissioning. The stated aim of H2A is to move away from traditional construction, instead focussing on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and ‘flat-pack’ design to reduce costs and construction time.
