The Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is expanding EV charging access for staff, fleet operations, and visitors.
Six sites are already operational, with a further six planned for later this year. The project supports the Trust’s longer-term ambition to transition its fleet to electric vehicles, while also improving charging accessibility across its estate.
UK-based EV charging infrastructure specialist Hydra EVC is working alongside approved EV installation partner Aspect Group Services to support the rollout.
Steven South, CEO and founder of Hydra EVC, said: “As organisations continue transitioning towards electric vehicles, infrastructure needs to be reliable, scalable, and practical for day-to-day operational use.
“Projects like this demonstrate how EV charging infrastructure can support wider sustainability ambitions while improving accessibility for staff, fleet vehicles, and visitors across multiple sites.”
Martin Mizen, senior director of estates and facilities at EPUT, said: “As part of our role as an NHS ‘Anchor Organisation’, we are committed to supporting local communities, sustainability initiatives, and regional economic development. Our second Green Plan sets out clear targets for measuring success towards achieving a Net Zero carbon future for the Trust. Developing our EV charging rollout forms part of a broader programme focused on reducing environmental impact and supporting long-term sustainable infrastructure.”
