CHP Midlands delivers 41,000 extra appointments after UMF investment

Four projects at Community Health Partnerships (CHP) LIFT facilities have been delivered that will increase patient appointments by 41,000 per year.

At Retford Primary Care Centre, CHP has changed an old patient record room and office into clinical space, with two rooms being refurbished at the same time, and a phlebotomy room added.

Changes have also taken place at Merlyn Vaz Health and Social Centre, Leicester, and Bulwell Riverside, Nottingham. These have included a reconfiguration of space into a storage room, and the addition of a consultation room at Merlyn Vaz, while Bulwell has seen two offices converted into clinical consultation rooms. Development across these buildings has totalled roughly £600,000.

Stourbridge Health Centre saw the conversion of a dental suite into a bookable clinical treatment room.

Lisa Brettelle, project manager and UMF Programme Lead at CHP said: “The UMF Programme provides a much-needed boost to local GP practices and the communities they support. By investing in flexible clinical spaces across the NHS LIFT estate, GP provisions can deliver more services from high-quality, purpose-built environments within local neighbourhoods. These improvements will enable practices to see more patients and ultimately improve health outcomes. We’re proud to work alongside our NHS partners to ensure these enhancements make a real difference for patients who rely on timely, accessible primary care.”
