IHEEM’s next series of seminars will be on the New Medical Equipment Installation Guidance Notes (MEIGan). The MHRA (the former Medical Devices Agency) has updated its guidance for the pre-installation of imaging equipment and it includes related issues concerning associated circuits in the patient area. The MEIGan document, now launched, includes preinstallation electrical guidance for imaging equipment and associated lighting and power circuits.
Focusing on medical equipment installation
This series of seminars aims to introduce the new guidance, discuss practical issues relative to installation validation and testing and consider the relationship to associated circuits within the patient environment. The seminars will be of particular interest to hospital engineers, project managers and designers to raise their understanding of the issues involved. The seminars will be presented by Brian Mansfield, MHRA (the lead author of MEIGan document), Chris Holme, Estates and Facilities, DH (lead author of the Annex re GN7) and John Murray, Bender UK (supplier and installer of UPS and IPS Equipment).
