IHEEM can reflect that much has been achieved this year, writes Tammy Simmons, the Institute’s recruitment manager. Not only have membership numbers increased, as has been reported in HEJ, but also the membership retention rate is at an all time high.
Much achieved in 2005
New procedures have been put in place which have no doubt helped tremendously in the processing of new applications, and, with the ongoing support of everyone concerned, IHEEM is set to become even bigger and more successful.
In last month’s HEJ were details about a proposed link with the Science Council. This could be a fantastic opportunity for membership, not only to increase numbers but also to increase diversity, wealth of knowledge and expertise, greater networking opportunities and value to all.
IHEEM has certainly turned that very sharp corner, concerning membership, that we found ourselves facing a few years ago. We just need to continue this success story in the years to come. And with your ongoing support I am sure that we can. I wish you all the best for the next year and thank you once again for your stalwart assistance during the past 12 months.
