NHS Property Services has announced that CEO Martin Steele will be leaving the organisation at the end of March 2027.
During his tenure, Martin Steele has overseen a significant period of transformation for NHSPS, helping establish the organisation as a leading estates partner to the NHS and strengthening its role in supporting healthcare delivery across England. Under his leadership, NHSPS has strengthened estate compliance and governance, improved operational performance, enhanced customer focus, and developed a clearer strategic direction.
The announcement comes as NHSPS enters a new phase of closer customer relationships and increased delivery of expertise, with growing recognition from the DHSC and NHS England of the contribution it can make to wider NHS estate transformation and delivery of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan. This includes the delivery of 11 Neighbourhood Health Centres as part of wave one of the programme.
Martin Steele, CEO, NHS Property Services, said: "After nine years with NHS Property Services, I have decided that the time is right for a new chapter and I will leave the organisation at the end of March next year.
“It has been a privilege to lead NHSPS through a period of significant transformation. Together, we have evolved from an organisation focused on establishing the foundations of a complex national estate portfolio into a high-performing estate partner that is trusted across the NHS.
“Today, NHSPS is in a strong position, with an increasingly important role to play in helping the NHS transform its estate and deliver the ambitions of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan. With a clear strategy, a strong leadership team, and exciting opportunities ahead, I believe this is the right time to hand over to a new CEO who can build on everything that has been achieved and lead the organisation into its next phase.”
